This chapter covers man-made filaments, the yarns made from them, strip and similar man-made textile materials, and the fabrics woven from such yarns. The notes separate synthetic from artificial by how the fibre is produced: synthetic fibres come from the polymerisation of organic monomers used to make polyamides, polyesters, polyolefins or polyurethanes, while artificial fibres come from the chemical treatment or transformation of natural organic polymers such as cellulose. Continuous filament products stay in this chapter, whereas staple (cut) fibres belong to Chapter 55.
1. Tarifenin neresinde geçerse geçsin " sentetik ve suni lifler " tabirinden aşağıda yazılı işlemlerden
biriyle üretilen organik polimerlein filamentleri ve devamsız lifler anlamına gelir :
(a) Poliamidlerin, poliesterlerin, poliolefinlerin veya poliüretanların üretiminde kullanılan organik
Sentetik'ten (a) bendinde tanımlanan lifler; suni'den (b) bendinde tanımlanan lifler anlaşılır.
edilmez.
The first six digits of every code in this chapter are the same in every country that applies the Harmonized System. The chapter has 6 headings and 231 twelve-digit codes (2026 schedule).
The range is always computed WITHIN a single column: showing the EU column and the all-other-countries column as one range would misstate the duty. The binding rate depends on the twelve-digit code and the country of origin.

Chapter 54 — measure rows in force: 96 · products: 5 · origins: 36 · tariff codes: 60. Measures whose published expiry has passed but which are under an open expiry review ARE included: they remain legally in force and the duty is payable.
What governs the application of a measure is the product definition, not the HS code alone — your goods may fall outside the definition even if they share the code.
