What this chapter covers

This chapter covers man-made staple fibres, filament tow, the yarns spun from them and the fabrics woven from those yarns. The chapter note sets numerical tests for the tow of headings 55.01 and 55.02: the tow must be longer than 2 m, have a twist of less than 5 turns per metre, consist of filaments of less than 67 decitex each, and measure more than 20,000 decitex in total; synthetic tow must in addition not be capable of being stretched by more than 100% of its length. Tow not exceeding 2 m in length goes to heading 55.03 or 55.04 instead.

1. 55.01 ve 55.02 pozisyonları, demet uzunluğuna eşit yeknesak uzunlukta birbirine paralel filamentlerden

oluşan ve aşağıda belirtilen tanımları karşılayan sentetik ve suni filament demetlerine uygulanır:

(a) Demet uzunluğu 2 m.den fazla olan;

(b) Demet bükümü metre başına 5 turdan az olan;

(c) Her bir filamenti 67 desiteksten az olan;

(d) Sadece sentetik filament demetleri sözkonusu olduğunda çekildiğinde kendi uzunluğunun

% 100'ünden fazla uzatılamayan;

(e) Toplam demet desiteksi 20.000'den fazla olan.
